PDA SyncSyncLync, Schedule Star's PDA Sync, will sync all events and contact information to your handheld. To begin the sync process, click on PDA Sync. Your initial sync may require that you download a plugin interface called Wyncs.
Both Wyncs and Kenner-Price Associates are Schedule Star companies. If your computer is blocked from downloading, you may need to have your Systems Administrator complete this procedure for you. After the plugin interface is downloaded, you will not need to do this step again. The next time you click on PDA Sync, you will see a "File Downloading" message and then get this screen:
This lists all of the events and contacts in your Schedule Star. Your initial sync will sync ALL selected events and ALL contacts. Your events will sync to your datebook and contact information for Opponents, Officials, Vendors, Transportation, Students, and Coaches will sync into its own category in your address book. To control which contacts you sync, click on Utilities (on the main screen of Schedule Star), then "PDA Sync Options". Occasionally, you may see blank entries on this screen. These blanks represent events that were added, then deleted, from your Schedule Star Now! They will have no effect on your sync and do not need to be deselected. These blanks will be automatically deleted by Schedule Star Now! during periodic, internal maintenance. The Preferences button in the upper left hand corner controls whether your information will sync to Microsoft's Outlook or to your Palm Powered handheld.
You can select or deselect all the the events by clicking on Select All or Deselect All. Click on Synchronize to begin the actual sync process. If you have a large number of events and contacts, your initial sync may take a very long time. The next time you sync, only new or modified information will sync to your handheld. When your sync is finished, you will be asked to close the sync screen.
Windows will ask you to confirm that you want to close the window.
Click Yes to return to Schedule Star. Your events and contacts are in your Palm Desktop or Microsoft Outlook. The next time you sync your handheld, the information will transfer in. | ||||
