ENTERING GAME SCORES
The Sporting Event screen includes a Scoreboard area for entering game results
into Schedule Star.
To enable this feature, select one of your games and click EDIT to open the
Sporting Event screen. At the bottom of the window, click the
"Scoreboard" box to activate the field below. The first field is
labeled with your school's name; the second is labeled for the opponent for this
contest. You can either use the spinner buttons to increase or decrease the
score, or just click into each box and type the scores. Click OK to save the
scores and exit.
Once you enter some scores, you can utilize the Score report. Click PRINT, plug
in the date range and any other information, enter a gender/level/sport, and
select "Score" from the list of report types below. Click PRINT.
Notice the report not only prints the scores for the team's games, but also
totals a win-loss record from the score column.
If you designated league games using the checkbox on the Sporting Event screen,
you can print the Score report to exclude non-league games using the League
Filters on the Print screen.
Please note that this report is designed to print results for one team at a
time. You MUST enter a gender, level and sport. If you do not enter all three,
the win-loss record will not appear correctly.
Entering scores also greatly increases the functionality HighSchoolSports.Net
for those of you with a subscription. All of the scores you enter will upload to
the site. This will cut down on all those phone calls from parents, faculty, and
especially the media looking for final scores. Just point them to www.highschoolsports.net.
NOTE: One drawback to the current scoring scheme is that is does not support any
type of scoring beyond "us vs. them" scores. You cannot enter
fractional tennis scores. You cannot enter multiple scores for one event, such
as scores from each match in a volleyball game, or cross country scores for an
event larger than a dual meet. We are well aware of these limitations and this
problem will be addressed in a future version of Schedule Star.

TOURNAMENT CONTRACT PRINTING
Schedule Star's Tourney feature permits you to schedule tournament-style events
against multiple opponents. When adding a game to Schedule Star, checking the
"Tourney" check box on the Sporting Event screen enables this feature.
Checking "Tourney" lets you enter the name of the event to the right.
Next to this box is the PARTICIPANTS button. Clicking this takes you to a screen
where you may add multiple opponents to this event (the regular
"Opponents" pull-down menu is disabled on "Tourney" events).
Another button disabled by checking "Tourney" is EVENT CONTRACT. You
CANNOT use this button to print a contract for a tournament. You MUST save the
event by clicking OK and returning to the main calendar screen. Once there, you
may then print the contract in one of two ways...
1. The CONTRACTS button
Click the CONTRACTS button on the main calendar screen. When the Contracts menu
appears, click PRINT OPPONENT CONTRACTS. Select the date of the tournament. If
you have other events that day, you should also select "Season by
Sport" and select the gender, level, and sport of the tourney to ensure
you're print ONLY the contract for the tournament.
After making these selections, click PRINT. Schedule Star will automatically
generate the necessary contracts for EVERY participant in the tournament.
2. The OPPONENTS button
Click OPPONENTS to open the Opponents Directory. Highlight the name of one of
the opponents you listed under "Participants" in the tournament, then
click PRINT CONTRACTS.
Select the date of the tournament. If you have other events that day, you should
also select "Season by Sport" and select the gender, level, and sport
of the tourney to ensure you're print ONLY the contract for the tournament.
Clicking PRINT will generate a contract for the Tourney event FOR ONLY THE
SELECTED OPPONENT. If you want to print contracts for all of the opponents in
the Tourney, check the box next to "All Opponents." This overrides the
one opponent you selected, making this no different than printing the contracts
from the CONTRACTS button in the main calendar screen.
Which way works best for you depends on how you organize your contracts. If you
mail contracts on an event basis, print them from the CONTRACTS button on the
main calendar screen. If you mail contracts out for several games to a single
opponent all at once, print your Tourney contracts from the OPPONENTS directory.
NOTE: Even for non-Tourney events, we do not recommend using the EVENT CONTRACT
button to generate large numbers of contracts. This button is included on the
Sporting Event screen for occasional "spot printing" only, such as a
game added to your schedule late after the rest of your contracts have already
been printed. Printing contracts by click on each event and click the EVENT
CONTRACT button can be tedious and time-consuming.
Using the CONTRACTS button on the main calendar screen saves you considerable
time and countless mouse clicks. Instead of going to each game to print the
contract, you can generate entire seasons of contracts with a single click...
just one more way that Schedule Star saves you time.
